Mother’s Day 2022 falls on the 27th of March which also happens to be my birthday (and when the clocks go forward).
Are you looking for ideas on what to get your Mum? Whether it’s for Mother’s day or a birthday, or maybe just to say thanks, this post contains lots of inspiration on gifts for Mum, Mother-In-Law, Partner or a woman/person who plays a big part in your life. This post contains items that have been sent for inclusion.
A Day Out Experience –
We’ve spent the best part of 3 years in and out of lockdowns and limited on what we can do and see, now places are opening up and there are less restrictions, we can finally make the most of it.
Buyagift vouchers are a great gift option, there are so many different things to choose, from spa days to go karting. All experiences can be changed and if you’re not sure what your Mum may like to do then they also have experience boxes and gift vouchers. She may let you come along too!
Most of the suggestions that I give people when they ask for ideas for my birthday/ Christmas or Mother’s Day are usually more useful items that I want but can’t justify buying myself for whatever reason.
Something for the home –
KitchenCraft have a great range of kitchen items and gifts from lots of different brands. So if your buying for someone who can cook like a pro or a complete novice then you’ll find something to suit.
Period products –
I have been using reusable period products for around 7 years now and honestly can’t imagine going back. There are times I will use single use products for a number of different reasons but I’m a firm believer that imperfectly consistent is better than perfectly consistent and its all about learning and improving.
There are lots of different types of reusable period products but the most simple and easy to start off with is reusable sanitary pads.
Tradetoaid have a great starter pack which gives you 6 reusable pads ( 2 heavy, 2 medium and 2 light) and includes a waterproof wet bag for £29.97. If you’re looking for more information on period poverty and benefits of reusable pads then you should definitely take a look at their website. With Each pack that is purchased, a pack is donated to refugees and their mission is to reduce period poverty around the globe.
If you don’t like wearing pads or you already have them and are looking for more reusable period products then ModiBodi have an incredible range of period pants including items for men, women, teens and babies. They also offer Maternity/post partum and active/swimwear (I really want to try these). Their pants range in absorbance from leakproof and super light to heavy and Maxi 24hours, they have some super cute designs too! Who said period pants had to be boring?!
“Me” Time gifts for mum –
I’ve recently started going to the gym so my “Me” time is usually the time I spend going to the gym and I definitely make the most of the peaceful shower after. Bath and Body gifts are a simple but really effective gift if you cater them to the person you’re buying for. These Arran gift sets are the perfect little addition to my gym bag.
If I don’t get the time to go the gym then I tend to do a home workout (my go to is Sharonashill on Youtube). Whether you’re looking to lose weight, build muscle or just enjoy working out then Amonax can help you set up your own home gym.
A gift to help them relax? The Echor End of Day candle (they also have pillow sprays if the person you’re buying for doesn’t like candles) contains Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Geranium and sweet orange and is a great way to relax and unwind at the end of a busy / stressful day. Burns for up to 60 hours and made from vegan soy wax, It’s also really nicely packaged too.
Food and Drink gifts for mum –
Food and drink gifts are probably the easiest gift ideas if you know the person well. Some of their favourite chocolates or a bottle of their favourite gin? If you’re looking for something a bit more out of the box then how about a make your own cocktail kit gift set? These glass bottles contain all the dry ingredients, all they will need to do is to add their rum of choice.
I’m a big fan of coffee and love trying new ones (coffee is also a great pre workout too). Black Insomnia is The world’s strongest coffee proven by independent labs and has caramel, hazelnut, and macadamia aromas, on top of a luxurious dark chocolate flavour. I can’t say I’m an expert when it comes to coffee but I do tend to think the stronger the better.
Free / Cheaper gifts for mum –
If you’re looking to save on money or you have little ones then personalised crafts or being helpful around the house can be a great gift for any Mum. Who doesn’t want a day off of housework or their meals made (and tidied up after) for them.
I also love a good charity shop / car boot sale so if you’re able to then why not pop to one and get some cheap random books (probably best suited for readers or someone who wants to get into reading more). choose an author or genre they like or even something completely new to them. Pair it with a new mug or cosy socks for a really thoughtful little gift.
I hope you find some inspiration from these, if you have any suggestions on things you’ve bought or would like to receive then let me know in the comments. For more inspiration check out our last Mother’s Day Gift Guide.
Happy Mother’s day!
