Weaning with Tommee Tippee Steamer Blender.

When R started weaning it was almost like it came from nowhere. I wasn’t prepared in the slightest, you wouldn’t think I had 6 months to prepare and plan as well as another child who I had already weaned.

Tommee Tippee sent us the Steamer Blender and some storage pots to help us out.

The Tommee Tippee Steamer Blender features;

  • Steams food to preserve nutrients and flavour in food
  • Blends easily to a range of textures for every weaning stage
  • No transfer between steaming and blending
  • Automatic timer so you can just set, leave, then simply serve or store
  • Small number of parts for easy cleaning
  • BPA Free for ultimate reassurance

With R having a cows milk protein allergy (CMPA) I wanted to make sure that I knew what was in her meals so that meant doing them myself. The Tommee Tippee Steamer Blender took the stress out of that.
On days I found myself super unprepared I was amazed at how quick and easy the machine was. A couple of new potatoes, some frozen (or fresh veg) add the water and set up a 15 minute steam. You can set it up to automatically blend straight after but I found sometimes that the food would be too wet so I would pour a bit of the water out and then blend until I got the consistency I wanted.

Whether you’re in the first stages of weaning (6 months) adding textures (around 9 months) or they’re 12 months + then there are recipe ideas for you. I do think it’s super simple enough to chuck bits in and learn as you go though!

Don’t forget to freeze any extras to save on money and waste.

Although the Tommee Tippee Steamer Blender takes out the hassle, unfortunately it doesn’t take the mess or fussiness of some babies so make sure you remain patient and try foods a few times to get baby used to them.

For first tastes I recommend Veggies (nobody wants baby rice it’s so boring and bland) Make sure your little one gets used to savoury tastes before introducing sweat. I also am a big fan of baby led weaning so do a mix of both by giving R some toast or cumber to hold and try too.
