You know you have social anxiety when…

I am terrible in most every day situations;
making a call/ answering the phone
answering the door
saying my name (yep, seriously!)

I’ve felt nervous at the thought of these and MANY other things for as long as i can remember.

social anxiety

You know you have social anxiety when;

You spend minutes/hours/days worrying about something that involves you meeting new people.

You have to take breaths before answering the phone to an unknown number (if you answer it at all)

You spend ages going through everything that you said to someone and critiquing it.

You keep going over old moments/ conversations at thinking how you could have done it better.

You plan what you’re going to say before you say it.

You cancel plans at the last minute because they probably wouldn’t miss you anyway.

You HATE going to the Hairdressers because they always want to talk.

You tell everyone your life story because you feel too uncomfortable with awkward silences.

You feel like you need to know the answers to everything so you don’t look stupid.

You got to the bottom of these and answered yes to nearly all of them!

Do you have any more to add? Have you found a way to cope with social anxiety? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Until the next post,
Are and Pops.

    Oh I relate to ALL of these. I’ve had social anxiety since my teenage years, probably even before that but more so since then and it wasn’t really til my late 20’s that I realised that I had it, I just always thought there was something wrong with me but I’m 33 now and have come to accept it. I’m an introvert and that’s ok! Xxx
