The thought of getting dressed, getting pops dressed, packing the bag and the whole process of actually leaving the house is always such effort (and I only have one!) In all honesty I think I may have a bit of anxiety about it all too 😕 but once I get out I feel fine, it’s fun and I enjoy it.
We have the luxury of living right by a castle so thought we’d have a little walk (run in pops case) round. It was on and off sunny but overall such a nice day! (Don’t let the christmas jumper fool you, I love the colours on her)
This spring/summer Im going to make more effort to get out the house and go enjoy where we live!
It also doesn’t hurt that pops has worn herself out for bedtime 😉
Until the next post,
Are and Pops.
I love being outdoors, though living in London, it can be chaotic if you hit the tourist areas!
Before I had pops we lived in central London and it wasn’t something I wanted for her so that’s why we moved! it can be magical in the city (sometimes) x
I used to feel that way when leaving the house with my daughter. I think because we were so used to being able to pick up one handbag or shoving keys, phone and money in our pockets the build up of going out makes us anxious! Now that my daughter Rose is older she has her frozen backpack with her essentials in and I now do as I used to and grab a handbag and we are out the door! You are so lucky to live near a castle too, I’d be there most days off tiring out my toddler!!
I really need to start getting out more with the little one too!
I don’t drive so I find I’ve convinced myself that there’s no point leaving the house because we can’t go anywhere but we live in a little town with fields and parks so it’s no excuse really!
This week I forced us to go out as I needed to get some last minute Easter eggs that if forgotten to buy (luckily managed to find 2 even with it being after Easter!) and then we went to the library, got a sausage roll, met my mum from work and then went food shopping when normally I would have got the eggs and gone home and it felt great not to be sat on the sofa all day!
That’s the thing isn’t it, once it’s done and your out its such a lovely day (9 times out of 10) and I think to myself what all the fuss was about. It’s so much easier to just sit indoors 😟 I find if I plan to go out its a bit easier too.. maybe do that? Once a week (more if you want/need) make a plan of going out.. just to the park at first and then grow from that?! I think that’s what I’m going to try and do 🙂 x
We go to a book club at the library on a Wednesday which is great and it’s good to have that same thing every week but now it’s summer I think I’ll make a day for the park and try and stick to it and we have a big garden with lots of toys so now it’s summer we can just sit out there aswell! x
