I wanted to make sure I had something to share with you while I was away and the amazing Jess over at Mrs Helicopter let me know about this little questionnaire ‘The Mummy Tag’ so I’ll fill it in and maybe youll get to know more about me and how pops and I do what we do.
1. Are you a Stay at Home Mum or a Working Mum?
I’m a stay at home mum.
I was temping as a dental nurse when I fell pregnant and knowing how health and safety isn’t followed as it should be in some clinics I decided it would be safer to not continue while pregnant. We then moved to wales and I decided I wanted to stay at home with pops..until I went crazy or we needed the extra income.
2. Would you have it any other way?
Some days I wish I had stayed in work, extra money and that all important (I think) time away sometimes to just relax and actually miss being around your little one.. I think it can sometimes be overwhelming!
3. Do you co-sleep?
Not intentionally. Pops likes to wake up and come in with us around 12/1 and as you may know is a very early riser so we let her come in with us so we can get that little bit more sleep!
4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?
Music. Pretty much from day one we’ve had something musical for pops to fall asleep too and she’s always loved watching music channels and dancing along to songs. I’m not sure that counts as a must have item though so I will go with what we use most and that’s her non spill 360 cup.
5. How many kids do you plan on having?
I’ve always wanted 3. It used to be 2 boys and a girl but since having pops I’ve changed my mind slightly… still 3 but now I want 2 girls and a boy!
6. Date nights? How often do you have them?
We made the clever decision to move 3 hours away from family so we’ve never had a baby sitter :'( now my sister in law has moved TWO (eek) doors away I hope we’re able to get some date nights!
7. Your child’s favourite show?
Up until about a week ago it was Alvinnn and the chipmunks but now it’s nothing but hey duggee!
8. Name one thing you bought before you had the baby and never ended up using?
Baby shoes! They are so cute but utterly useless. I didn’t listen to all the people telling me not to bother and I wish I did. Don’t buy baby shoes!
9. Your child’s favourite food?
Lasagne, meal wise. Anything tomato based and tomatoes in general.
10. How many cars does your family have?
Just the one. A pretty big definite family car!
11. Weight gain, before pregnancy, during, after and now?
All three. Just after I found out I was pregnant with pops we went to New York and I put on a stone in that one week… I think I put about 2 and a half stone whilst pregnant and have struggled to lose any since having her.
12. Dream holiday with your kids?
This is most likely everyones answer but of course it’s disney world. I always dreamed of going as a kid and my mum would always say we would one day but we never did. I want to go for both pops (and other kids I may have) and for me!
13. Dream holiday without your kids?
Oh that’s hard. Possibly still disney world, or skiing again… Somewhere like Mexico or Bahamas? Can I say everywhere? 🙈
14. How has your life changed since having kids?
Other than the obvious lack of sleep? 😪
I now feel like my life has purpose, everything I do and every decision I make i have pops in mind and I choose based on what will be best for her either right now or in the long run.
15. Finish the sentence “It makes heart melt when…”
Pops is a right daddy’s girl so when daddy is holding her but she wants mummy. (Haha can you tell it’s rare I’m chosen over daddy?)
16. Where do you shop for your kids?
I buy her clothes from all over and love getting a bargain in the charity shop!
17. Favourite make-up and skincare products?
I’m not a make up person really, I tend to just use eyeliner. I’d love some quick and easy make up /skin care tips though so leave me a comment!
18. Huggies or Pampers?
Pampers nappies, but I’ve been used to buying tesco wipes! Now we’re trying potty training we’ve just been buying cheap pull ups from tesco/asda too.
19. Have you always wanted kids?
I’ve never not imagined a life with kids. It’s alot harder than what I expected though haha.
20. Best part of being a mum?
The love. The cuddles and kisses and those looks that you get randomly. The inside jokes and moments that nobody else will ever understand. So much!
